The students can describe and analyze the electromechanical energy conversion in dc machines as well as in IM and SYM, using their gained knowledge.
Starting from mechanical quantities like torque or revolution speed the students can derive and explain the coherences to the electrical quantities, including converters.
The knowledge is developped with the following contents
Fundamentals of mechanics: staionary and dynamic behavior
DC-Drives: Setup and functionality of a dc-motor, converter driven motor, revolution speed or torque control
Drives with induction machines: Setup and Functuionality of three-phase converters, pulse-width modulation (space-vector modulation), Converter driven Operation of IM, U/f controls, fielf weakening, basics of torque and revolution speed controls.
Drives with synchronous machines: Setup and Functuionality of synchronous machines, especially including permanent magnets. Operation in combination with three-phase converters. Current and torque control, Behavior of servo-drives with converter driven PM-SYm, Functionality of highly dynamic drives.
